Map a network drive to get to it from File Explorer in Windows without having to look for it or type its network address each time.
🔹 Step 1: Open File Explorer
- Press Windows + E or click the File Explorer icon on the taskbar to open it.
🔹 Step 2: Go to 'This PC'
- In the left sidebar of File Explorer, click on “This PC” to access drive options.
🔹 Step 3: Open 'Map Network Drive'
- Click the three dots (⋯) in the top menu bar and select “Map network drive” from the dropdown.
🔹 Step 4: Choose a Drive Letter
- In the dialog box, select a drive letter (like Z: or Y:) from the dropdown list.
🔹 Step 5: Enter Network Folder Path
- Type the network path to the shared folder (e.g.,
\\ServerName\SharedFolder
) in the Folder field. Example: \\us.btswyn.com\Business\Scottsdale
🔹 Step 6: Set Preferences
- Check “Reconnect at sign-in” to keep the drive mapped after reboot.
- Optionally, check “Connect using different credentials” if needed.
🔹 Step 7: Finish and Authenticate
- Click “Finish” to complete the setup.
- If prompted, enter your network username and password.
